Control Panel is a very important part of the computer software. It helps in changing the settings of the system. The folder options control panel enables you to view certain folders that are present on your computer. To get to the control panel you have to press the start button, go to setting click on the control panel option. Then you can see the control panel window. Here you will find Display which will show you the properties you want to change on your computer. You can very easily change the desktop of the screensaver on your computer system. There are many other settings in your computer that you need to change from time to time.

The folder options control panel is the place where you can properly adjust the folders and files contained in the computer system. You can have different ways to view the folders. For example if you want to view the folders big you can select for large icon. You even have a list option where you do not have to make a folder but a list is displayed on your screen. To open a folder you always need to double click that specific folder. Whenever you double click on any folder to open it is displays the complete path where the folder is located. You can also hide the folders with the help of the settings that are available in the control panel.  The folder options control panel shows all the software's that are stored in your system in the form of folders.

You can delete the by simply pressing the delete button on your keyboard of you can right click on that folder and press delete option. The folder gets stored in the recycle bin of your computer. You can store as many files you want in any folder. A folder can also contain a folder. You can store movies, songs and others files in your computer system simply by creating a folder. You can also very easily hide the file extensions of any folder. You can also create as many folders you want to have in your computer system. A folder is typically used to store information that one might require in the future.


Microsoft windows operating system is one of the popular operating systems all over the world and is used widely. The folder options control panel is used for a variety of purposes. One of the main uses of folder options is to hide a folder. The user has to select the folder which has to be hidden. Then right click on the folder and select the properties option from the drop down list. The properties window of the folder or the file selected appears. Here select the hidden option in the properties which is indicated by a tick mark. If there are many folders within the folder, then a message pops up to the user. The message indicates whether the hidden properties apply to the sub folders. The user can either select to apply the folder attributes to the sub folders or not select. If there are many folders within the folder, then it is advised not to select the hidden attributes to the sub folders as applying attributes to the rest of the sub folders takes more time.

The folder options control panel can be accessed from any part of the operating system displaying the folders using the tools menu and selecting the folder options. This can be done also by going to the control panel of the operating system and selecting the folder options icon in the control panel. Here in the folder options control panel window select the view tab and select do not show hidden files and folders. The folder or file which ahs been hidden earlier gets disappeared from the hard drive and this folder or file can be displayed again by selecting show hidden folders and files options in the folder option windows of the operating system.

There are various attributes that can be applied to the files and folders using the folder options window. In the general options, the mouse options can be changed from double click to single click. There are other options considering the mouse operation. The appearance of the window can be changed in the general options of the folder option window. The view tab of the folder options window is useful in applying various attributes and making changes to the files and folders. The file types tab shows all sorts of file types that are stored in the operating system and in the hard drive of the computer. The offline tab is the final tab useful to work with the offline files in the network.
